How to Troubleshoot a Garmin Nuvi 350

The Garmin Nuvi 350 is a global positioning system unit that provides directions to travelers. Mounted on a car windshield, the device allows users to view maps, search for specific locations such as gas stations, restaurants and hotels and receive audible directions while driving. As with most electronic devices, the Garmin Nuvi 350 occasionally does not work properly. Different troubleshooting steps need to be taken to put the device back in correct working operation.

Instructions

    Suction Cup Will Not Stay Put

  1. Step 1

    Wipe the suction cup with rubbing alcohol.

  2. Step 2

    Dry the suction cup with a clean cloth.

  3. Step 3

    Place the suction cup on the windshield and pull the lever back on the base to remount.

  4. Battery Gauge Gives Incorrect Reading

  5. Step 1

    Let the Garmin Nuvi 350 stay powered on until the battery dies.

  6. Step 2

    Recharge the battery, but do not interrupt the charging until it is complete.

  7. Step 3

    Restart the device. The battery indicator will now accurately show the remaining battery life.

  8. Touch Screen Not Handling Input Correctly

  9. Step 1

    Touch the "Settings" wrench symbol and choose "Display" from the menu.

  10. Step 2

    Press "Recalibrate" and follow the onscreen instructions to adjust the touch screen.

  11. Step 3

    Restart the unit for the changes to take effect.

  12. Computer-Garmin Nuvi 350 Connection Issue

  13. Step 1

    Unplug the USB cable from the computer.

  14. Step 2

    Power down the device, and then restart it.

  15. Step 3

    Plug the USB cable into the computer. The Garmin Nuvi 350 will go into "USB Mass Storage Mode."
