How to Replace a Warped Ceiling Fan Blade
There are several reasons why a ceiling fan may suddenly start wobbling. One reason is if one of the blades becomes warped. Just one bent blade will throw the balance of the entire fan off. If you keep running the fan like this, without replacing the blade, it can cause further problems, and even damage the motor. Make this easy repair as soon as you notice a warped blade. Set the ladder up a to the side of the ceiling fan, not directly underneath. Make sure you can safely reach the blades without having to stretch or hang over one side of the ladder. Turn off the fan.

Hold the warped fan blade with one hand. Use a flat-head screwdriver with your other hand. Remove the three screws that hold the blade to the ceiling fan bracket. By using a screwdriver with a magnetic end, you'll have a better chance of not losing the screws.

Lift the warped ceiling fan blade up and off the bracket. Place the new blade onto the bracket with the smaller end to the back. Align the back of the blade with the bracket. Make sure the screw holes in the blade are aligned with the screw holes in the bracket.

Hold the replacement fan blade firmly in place with one hand. Put a new screw on the end of the magnetized screwdriver. Screw it up through the bracket and into the blade. Insert the other two screws. Make sure they are tight.

Turn the ceiling fan on. Since you replaced the warped blade, the fan should run smoothly and evenly.

If you want to check a ceiling fan blade to see if it's warped, lay it on a flat surface. If the blade doesn't lay flat, it's warped.
