How to Do Summer Hairstyles

There are many hairstyles to wear during summer, but the one that never loses its spark is the waves. Soft, lustrous waves can be worn down during the day and pinned up for a night out. Even if your hair is not naturally wavy, it is easy to achieve sassy summer waves.

Things You'll Need

• Small rubber bands
• Liquid hair spray
• Wide tooth comb
• Mousse

Instructions

Get Summer Waves

1. 

   Wash, condition and towel-dry your hair before bed, leaving it damp. The wavy style is best achieved when your hair has a chance to set overnight.

2. Part your hair down the center, from the forehead to the nape, and tie one side up with a rubber band. Apply mousse to the side left hanging down and comb it through, making sure all your hair gets coated with mousse.

3. Braid a french braid starting at the front of your hairline working back toward the back of your head. Continue braiding hair down until you reach the end, and secure the braid with a rubber band. Repeat this step again on the other side after you comb through the mousse.

4. Undo the braids in the morning using your fingers and do not comb through the waves. You may apply a couple sprays of water to your hair to give it a wetter look. Complete by spraying hair with hairspray.

5. Style your hair by pinning it half up, half down using bobby pins, or put it into a loose ponytail. Apply an anti-frizz serum to control any frizz. As an alternative to anti-frizz serum, apply a quarter-sized amount of baby oil to eliminate any frizz.

• Only apply a small amount of mousse to your hair to avoid flaking.
