There are several places online to submit your articles to online that will get "indexed" by Google in a few hours or less. We are going to start with GoArticles.com.
Goto http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/signup.cgi?submit-member=New+Member and create your account. -

After following the instructions to activating your account, Edit Your Profile! In order to get more recognition and more "trust" from people that locate you online, tell them about yourself so they know you are human.

Click "Add a New Article". In the "Title", name it like you would want people to find you if they searched in Google and try to keep it to 6 or less words. Example: If the article was on Surfing in Hawaii, I would name it "Surfing in Hawaii - Honolulu Surfing News".

Be sure you add a backlink to your website or blog near the end of your article and also add one in your profile. Keep HTML to a minimal. When creating your backlink do not use words like "click here" use something that is much more descriptive to where you are sending people to. Example: "Hawaii Surfing Images".
If you are not sure how to create a hyperlink, do a Google search for "how to create a hyperlink" and you will find lots of resources to help you. -

Choose the appropriate Category and Sub Category. Be sure to click PREVIEW to be sure your article appears the way you want it. If not you can "continue editing" until you are happy with what you have. Then click "Add Article".

Wait several hours and then do a Google search for the title of your article. Assuming you have done everything correctly, your article should be there!

There are several other techniques that will allow you to keep that article at the top of the search engines for a long time. Try Bookmarking.
Results will vary depending on the competitiveness of your key phrase and key words. For example, one of the more competitive phrase in real estate is "We Buy Houses". If I titled my article just that, I doubt I would appear on Google. But if I were to add my city or state or both, perhaps even your name, it will stand out. i.e "We Buy Houses Atlanta Georgia"
