Fruit flies are horrible pests that swarm your fresh fruits and kitchen in the warm weather. Here's how to build a simple and inexpensive fruit fly trap.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take a somewhat deep bowl and put a piece of fruit in the bottom of it. If you bite into it and let it sit out for a little while, it will be even more of a lure for your fruit fly trap.

  2. Step 2

Cover the bowl with clear saran wrap. Make sure that the entire mouth of the bowl is covered, and smooth the plastic down around the sides so that it will be a thoroughly sealed fruit fly trap.

  3. Step 3

Poke small holes into the saran wrap. Now you have a fruit fly trap! The fruit flies will be drawn in by the bait of the fruit, and be able to find their way into the wrapped bowl because of the small holes in the plastic, however, they wont be able to get out!

  4. Step 4

To prevent fruit flies in the future, keep your kitchen sparkly clean and your fruit covered.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that the holes you poke are small so that the fruit flies can't escape!
