How to Make Your Own Leg Wax
If you typically go to the salon to have your legs waxed, you can end up spending a lot of money. You could save money by using a store-bought leg wax kit, but you could save even more by making the wax yourself. You can make a simple but effective wax with sugar. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/8 cup of lemon juice
- 1/8 cup of water
- Old T-shirt
- Medium saucepan
- Jar
- Butter knife

Mix sugar, lemon juice and water in a medium-sized pan and heat on medium heat. Once it starts to boil, stir the mixture vigorously. It will begin to foam up, so make sure your pot is big enough to prevent overflow. Heat for about three minutes after it begins boiling. Remove the mixture from heat, pour it into a jar and let it cool.

Find an old cotton T-shirt and cut it into strips. You can use these for your waxing strips instead of buying them.

Apply your wax once it is cool to the touch. Apply the wax with a butter knife or the back of a spoon. Press the T-shirt strips onto the wax and pull it off to remove the hair.

Save extra wax in the fridge and reheat in the microwave when ready to wax again.

Tips & Warnings
Be certain that the wax is cool to the touch because hot wax is hard to get off before it gives you first-degree burns.
