Make Floating Candles
Make Floating Candles

Set the mood with floating candles. Add to a hot tub for some romance, the pool for some added fun, or make any centerpiece beautiful.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wax
  • Wick
  • Molds (whatever shape you want)
  • A heat source
  • Double Boiler
  • Fragrance (optional)
  1. Step 1

Melt the wax. If you do not have a double boiler, you can easily make one. A large pot to boil your water in and a coffee can set inside the pot to melt the wax will work great!!

  2. Step 2

Pour your melted wax into the desired mold. Molds that are bigger on top work better for floating purposes. If you would like color or fragrance added to your candles, make sure you mix it into the melted wax before pouring into the mold.

  3. Step 3

Add the wick into the center of each candle. You will need to let your wax cool until the top hardens a bit (so the wick will not move around).

  4. Step 4

After the candles cool and harden, trim the wicks (about 1/4").

  5. Step 5

Now you are ready to use your candles! Don't forget the matches (or lighter)!

Tips & Warnings
  • Add color and fragrance to your floating candles to make a great wedding centerpiece.
  • Use in small glass bowls, vases, margarita glasses, etc.
  • Don't burn yourself with the lighter or matches. ;)
