When signing in to your Google Gmail account have you noticed that as you start typing your login information begins to fill itself in? Somewhere down the line your computer has figured out who you are. Well, maybe you share your computer with others and don't want them getting into your e-mail. Here is how to make Google forget your user name and password information in Internet Explorer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The reason your computer is automatically filling in your login information is due to the AutoComplete feature being turned on. Here is how to turn off AutoComplete.

  2. Step 2

Click on tools in the Internet Explorer menu bar. You can find tools at the top of your screen just below the address bar. See the picture on this step.

  3. Step 3

Next, mouse down and select Internet Options.

  4. Step 4

Now choose the tab that says "Content".

  5. Step 5

Now in the section labeled AutoComplete choose the only button there labeled "Settings". Here you will see several boxes for AutoComplete options.

  6. Step 6

Make sure the "Forms" box is unchecked and also uncheck the "User names and passwords on forms" box. Make sure the "Prompt me to save passwords" box is unchecked as well.

  7. Step 7

Notice the "Delete AutoComplete history" section. You need to perform this step as well. Now click over to the General tab. Under the Browsing history section click "delete" and then "delete all" at the bottom.

  8. Step 8

Return to the login screen for Google and test to see if Google is still remembering your user name and password. It should not be. Also be sure to never check the "stay signed in" box when logging in.
