How to Remove Tinted Film From House Windows

Easily remove film from your windows

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair dryer
  • Window scraper
  • Adhesive remover
  1. Step 1

    Set your Hair dryer on low to medium speed, and start heating up a lower corner of the window

  2. Step 2

    While Holding the blow dryer on the window, gradually start to work the window scraper behind the tint.

    Keep constant heat on the area of the window while your scraping

    Sometimes it will loosen up enough where you can grab the corner with your fingers and pull upwards to remove also.

  3. Step 3

    Continue to heat and remove the tint until no more tint is seen

  4. Step 4

    There will some left over glue residue that you will need to remove next.

    Spray the adhesive remover on the glue and use your scraper to remove the majority of the glue

  5. Step 5

    When the majority of the glue is removed, spray the window with the adhesive remover and take a rag a rub it off

  6. Step 6

    Repeat the previous step until no more glue is on the window.

  7. Step 7

    Wash the window with Window cleaner, and enjoy your clear glass

Tips & Warnings
  • Sometimes wallpaper remover will work in substitute for the adhesive remover
  • Use proper ventilation while using the adhesive remover
