Making masks can be a fun and easy thing to do. In this tutorial you will learn how to make a mask that looks just like the real thing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardstock paper
  • The Internet
  • Scissors
  • A Creative Mind
  • A Theatre Mask
  • Wood Glue
  1. Step 1

There are two main ways to make a wolf mask. The one I am about to show in is rather simple. In step two, I will give instructions on a more complex way to make one, but with better results. If you would like to read that tutorial, skip down to step two.

Anyways, here's the simple one. Get a piece of cardstock and put it in a printer. Set the printer paper type to cardstock. Next, find a picture of a wolf and resize it to the size of your face. Color print it out on the piece of cardstock. Cut out the face and cut two holes for eyes. Punch two holes at the side of the wolf's face and attach a string around it and fasten the mask on your face.

Ok, now here's the hard way. Skip down to step three for instructions.

  3. Step 3

This is going to be a three dimensional mask. First, try to find many profile pictures of wolves on the internet. By observing closely, you will be familiarized with the wolf's characteristics.

  4. Step 4

Next, get a theatre mask (bought from your local craft shop).

  5. Step 5

Afterwards, get a piece of gray cardstock. If you don't have gray, then color it gray (it looks even better that way). Add some small strips of black admist the gray.

  6. Step 6

Attach these, using wood glue, to the theatre mask, to give it a wolfish appearance.

  7. Step 7

Now for the hard part. Remember, the exterior of your mask is going to be made completely of cardstock. The theatre mask is simply acting as a base and support. To make the nose, fold (DO NOT CUT!!! FOLD!!) an additional piece of gray-striped-black cardstock into the shape of a nose. It will look very geometric, so flatten out the corners of the nose to make it look more natural. Take a shapie and draw the mouth.

  8. Step 8

Finally, attach the mouth with more wood glue. If you can't see, then remove some of the "hair" around the eyes. And there you have it! A perfectly made wolf mask!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Be delicate with your mask. Make sure that you do not overdo any of the glue or anything, for it will ruin the effect.
  • Be careful when using scissors and wood glue.
