Instructions

  1. Tissue Paper Flowers

    • 1

Measure and draw a 4 inch circle, a 6 inch circle and an 8 inch circle on the lightweight cardboard using a compass. Cut the circles out. These are the pattern pieces for your tissue paper flowers.

    • 2

Layer two sheets of each tissue paper color for a total of six layers. Place each of the circle patterns on the tissue paper and draw around. Cut out the circles through all the layers. You will have enough to make three tissue paper flowers. Lay two large same color circles on your table, center two medium circles on top and center two small circles on top of all of them.

    • 3

Place the stack of flowers on a scrap of Styrofoam for your work surface. Poke two holes, one inch apart, in the center of the circle stack using the wood skewer. Bend a pipe cleaner in half. Poke the ends of the pipe cleaner through the holes of the tissue paper stack from the small circle flower front to the large circle flower back. Twist the ends of the pipe cleaners together to form a stem. Gather the circles upward to form the blossom of the flower.

    Mexican Maracas

    • 4

Place the funnel in the top of the water bottle and pour in a 1/2 cup of white rice, 10 each of the green, red and white pony beads, one teaspoon each of the green, red and white sequins, and a 1/2 teaspoon of the green and red glitter.

    • 5

Cut four lengths of each color curling ribbon, 12 inches long. Cut a piece of double stick tape approximately two inches long. Place the tape on the inside neck of the bottle opening. Attach one end of each color ribbon to the tape on the inside of the bottle. Alternate the colors. If needed, add more tape over the ends of the ribbon and attach the remaining ribbon.

    • 6

Apply household cement to the outside threads on the water bottle neck. Drape the lengths of the ribbon down the side of the bottle. Apply household cement to the inside of the water bottle cap and screw it onto the bottle. The cap may not thread perfectly because of the bulk on the threads, but as the household cement dries the cap will hold.
