How to Change the Task Bar Color
Windows operating systems come with a task bar that displays buttons of the applications running on your computer. For example, if you open Internet Explorer on your computer, a button that is linked to the browser will appear in the task bar. By default, the task bar is located at the bottom of your computer screen. You can customize your task bar by moving its location, altering when your task bar appears or changing the color of the bar. Go to your computer's desktop and right-click anywhere on the desktop. Select the "Properties" option from the desktop's drop-down menu.

Click on the "Appearances" tab in the "Properties" window. The tab is the second farthest to the right.

Click on the "Color Scheme" drop-down menu. Choose a new color for your computer's task bar. Click "Apply" to view your changes immediately. Click "OK" to save your changes and exit the window.

Open your system's "Control Panel" by clicking on the "Start" menu button on the left side of your task bar and selecting the "Control Panel" option to the right. By default, the "Control Panel" button will appear in black.

Click on the "Appearance and Personalization" link on the right-hand side of the list. Click on the "Personalization" link, which is the uppermost link.

Click the "Window Color and Appearance" link, which is at the top of the window. Choose a new color for your task bar from the options presented. You can choose a custom color by clicking on the "Show Color Mixer" link. Click on the "OK" button to commit the color changes to your task bar.
