How to Learn English Pronunciation Online

You can use a variety of books and websites ito learn English vocabulary and grammar. To learn English pronunciation, though, it is a good idea to use both audio and text lessons. Fortunately, you can find these lessons on several websites. These websites can teach you how to pronounce consonants, vowels and eventually entire words and phrases. Using these websites gives you the opportunity to learn English pronunciation on your time and do so for free.

Instructions

1. Log onto the Fonetiks website (see Resources below). Here you can find English pronunciation lessons for several dialects of English, including American English, Canadian English and British English. Choose one of the lessons to access the page for that lesson. Then, place your cursor over the links on the left side of the page to listen to the different pronunciations.

2. Visit the LEO (Learn English Online) Network pronunciation page (see Resources below). Scroll down the page to read the introduction. You will then see numerous different pronunciation lesson links. Choose any link, and that pronunciation lesson will open in a different window.

3. Use Fun Easy English to learn English pronunciation online (see Resources below). This website contains more than 40 English pronunciation lesson links. Click on any of the links to access the page for that English pronunciation lesson. In the middle of the lesson page you will find a video lesson. Play that video to start the English pronunciation lesson. Then, you can move on to the text lesson underneath the video.

4. Learn English pronunciation through Ship or Sheep (see Resources below). This website offers more than 25 audio English pronunciation lessons. Click on any of the lessons, and a list of words will appear on the next page. Place your cursor over each word to hear the pronunciation for that word. Continue doing this until you have finished each lesson on the website.
