If you like to keep homework, handouts, or other loose pages with the notes that you write in a spiral notebook, you can make a simple folder from the very pages of the notebook. The instructions below show one method of folding the pages to create a handy pocket that holds half-sized sheets of 8.5x11 paper. Just fold your paper in half, tuck it in the folder, and you only have to carry one item to class.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the spiral notebook to a section where you don´t have any notes written, perhaps near the back, and lay it flat on the table with two pages facing up. Click thumbnail to enlarge diagram.

  2. Step 2

Fold up the bottoms of the two pages about 2 or 2.5 inches for a notebook with dimensions 8.5 by 11. Discard the excess paper from where you tore the pages off the spiral.

  3. Step 3

Next, fold the sides of the pages toward the center, about 2.5 or 3 inches.

  4. Step 4

Tape the flaps at the corners where the folds overlap, and tape across the gap at the bottom of the folder. Across the gap, be sure to tape on both sides of the paper so that adhesive from the tape doesn't stick to what you place in the folder.

  5. Step 5

You can make several pockets in the pages of you notebooks, or experiment with different sizes.
