Spider mites are less than half a millimeter in size, so they are very difficult to see. Spider mites are commonly red, but can be green or yellow also. They make a web on the plant and suck the juice from the underside of the leaves. This leaves a speckling pattern on the leaves, which eventually die and fall off. You can get rid of spider mites naturally by following the tips below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Predator Ants

Ants eat spider mites, so you can effectively get rid of spider mites by attracting ants to the area. Sprinkle some sugar around the base of the effected plant and set it outside. Ants will be attracted to the sugar and eat the spider mites before they leave.

  2. Step 2

    Predator Mites

There are other types of mites that do NOT feed on plants, but do feed on spider mites. Predator mites to the area will get rid of spider mites. There is no way to attract these predator mites, but you may purchase them at many garden stores.

  3. Step 3

    Neem

Neem oil and soaps made from neem oil will help you to eliminate a spider mite problem. Spider mites do not like neem oil. Make sure you cover the underside of all the leaves completely when treating your plant.
