Things You'll Need:
- Hot Water
- Skin Lotion
- A pumice stone or other rubbing device for skin care
-
Step 1
The easiest treatment is prevention, try not to put repeated, forceful friction on your hands and feet without proper protection. Common causes are guitars, bowling, running/waling, and Handy-work. If you must, make sure you buy top quality gloves or shoes that are designed for the task at hand.
-
Step 2
Removing the cause of calluses from your daily schedule is the next most important step. If you can, take less time out of your day to do whatever repetitive friction task is causing the calluses. The calluses will naturally go away with time.
-
Step 3
Now for treatment. Wash and soak the callus and surrounding area thoroughly for at least 20 minutes or until the skin is soft and relaxed.
-
Step 4
Use the pumice stone to grind down the callus. Do not be too forceful or irritate the non-callus skin around the area, but you should be able to remove layers of callus easily.
-
Step 5
Once done, wash again, dry and apply lotion.
-
Step 6
Repeat this process daily until calluses are in submission
