Sprouted grain breads are preferred by some because the enzyme inhibitors of the grain are broken down and the grain has sprouted making it alive and changing the nutritional value of the grain. You can make tasty sprouted buckwheat pizza crust at home.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 cups sprouted buckwheat groats
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • honey to taste
  • 2/3 cup carrot pulp
  • 2/3 cup soaked flax seeds
  • 1/4 cup water
  1. Step 1

    In a blender combine groats, olive oil, honey, carrot pulp, flax seeds and water. Blend using a spoon or rubber scraper to mix occasionally.

  2. Step 2

    On a solid dehydrator tray, spread the dough mixture out. You can use a spoon to transfer the dough and then use wet hands to spread the mixture evenly.

  3. Step 3

    Dehydrate the crust at 100 degrees for 7 hours.

  4. Step 4

    Transfer the crust to a mesh dehydrator tray and dry for 8 hours checking occasionally to see if it is fully dry.

  5. Step 5

    Top the pizza crust with your favorite ingredients and eat immediately or store covered in a dry area for up to one month.

on 10/1/2009 Thank you for the recipe! I am experimenting with raw foods again and woke up this morning to a big bowl of sprouted buckwheat groats with no idea what to do with them. I have a dehyrator. This looks like a great recipe. I'm going to try it! Thanks again!
