Flaxseed crackers are an enjoyable raw food and a healthy alternative to traditional crackers. You can make your own raw food flaxseed crackers at home with your dehydrator, which means they are still technically "raw" and are an option for raw foodists to consume. Making raw food flaxseed crackers at home is much more economical than buying them in a health food store. These crackers pair well with organic, all-natural hummus. Things You'll Need

  • 1/3 cup chopped bell pepper (red or green)
  • 1/3 cup cilantro
  • 2/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 cups diced fresh tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. minced jalapeno
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 2 cups flaxseeds
  • Food processor
  • Dehydrator

Instructions

      In a food processor, combine bell peppers, cilantro, tomatoes, jalapeno, garlic, olive oil and sea salt. Puree.

      Add the flaxseeds to the food processor and puree one more time.

      Spread the flaxseed mixture out on a solid dehydrator tray.

      Dehydrate at 90 degrees for four hours. Check to ensure the top is dry all over.

      Cut the dehydrated mixture into the desired size crackers and place them on a mesh dehydrator tray. This allows the air to circulate more easily around the crackers. Dry the flaxseed crackers for approximately five more hours, checking periodically to see if they are crispy and done.
