There are many reasons why one would wish to use a proxy server; the most common is to surf anonymously. Although just how anonymous proxy are, is up to debate. But to use one is quite simple.

    If you are interested in using a proxy server, first you should decide if you want to use a free proxy server or a paid server. Of course the benefits of a free server is that, well it is free. The drawback of a free proxy server, besides their speed and reliability is that you really have no idea who owns them. The benefits of a paid server is an increase in speed and reliability. It is your decision.

  2. Step 2

    To use a proxy server, just click on the resource link below and choose one from the list on the website. There are many free and some pay servers. Just follow the instructions on the proxy's website. Remember, please don't give out any personal details abut yourself when using a proxy and never do anything against the law while using one.

  3. Step 3

    There are a number of circumventors out there which are basically sites which allow an user who is using a computer which is attached to a server that blocks certain sites to access these sites through the circumventor. Many universities and schools block offensive websites on their servers and with circumventors students will be able to access these blocked sites.

  4. Step 4

    But are proxy servers safe? It depends on who is running the proxy server. Sensitive information can be obtained by the owners of these proxies. It is advisable not to use any unknown proxy servers.
