Step 2
Memorize medical terminology.
Medical is a must for NCLEX prep, as it is a large part of understanding many of the test questions. Flash-cards can be a lifesaver, as can rereading your text book notes and vocabulary sections. -
Step 3
Brace yourself for test anxiety.
When doing NCLEX review, you may start to get nervous for the actual test. Don't let test anxiety come in between you and a passing score! The NCLEX can be taken an unlimited number of times, so even if you bombed it, you would get another shot. Keep this in mind and it may relax you enough that you can beat your test nervousness. -
Step 4
Answer sample test questions.
NCLEX review is abundant online, complete with recommended terminology knowledge, sample questions, and even NCLEX courses. Take advantage of all of the resources out there designed to help you pass this test. -
Step 5
Group with fellow nursing students.
When you study in a group, you force yourself to learn in a second way, which can reinforce the permanence of the subject that you're learning. For example, when you do NCLEX review by yourself, you are reading, and likely talking to yourself. When you study in a group, you are speaking about the material aloud, and possibly even explaining material to classmates. This will increase retention of the NCLEX prep and make the memory more long term.
