Prevent pedicure infections. Pedicures are relaxing with your feet soaking in a pedicure warm soapy water bath. Pedicures are also a way to contract foot and skin infections, toe
nail diseases that could very well end with surgical removal of one or more toe nails. Make sure that you see with your own eyes the foot bath you are enjoying has been washed, cleaned and disinfected before you put your feet into it to soak.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Relax in the warm foot bath. Enjoy the conversation or soft music that can lull you to sleep. There is nothing better than a foot bath after a long day of standing on your feet, walking or running for exercise. But do you know if any germs are also enjoying the same water that your foot and toes pedicure was in? Was the foot bath cleaned, washed and disinfected after each foot bath?

  2. Step 2
    Nail polish

    Nail polish

Remove one foot a time from soaking your toes in so your feet can be dried with a towel. Select the shade nail polish you like and would look nice on your toe nails and have it applied by the manicurist. Did you ask if the towel has been disinfected when it was washed or can you get an infection of your toes a pedicure. Can you see or did the manicurist mention that nail clipper, nail files or cuticle scissors has been disinfected after the many pedicures that came before you?

  3. Step 3
    Infection starting

    Infection starting

Look at the picture that might be yours if you are in the early stages of having an infection due to a dirty and germ infested foot bath or/and pedicure. If this looks like your toe, you should make an appointment with a local foot doctor quickly before it becomes diseased further.

  4. Step 4
    Diseased toe nails

Do not wait until your diseased toes look like this. There is a good chance that the toenails will have to be surgically removed as the infection has already spread to each toe.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is better not get a pedicure than put your feet into a foot bath that has not been disinfected.
  • Infections of the toes is serious. The disease can spread to your body. If you notice yellowing of the toe nail immediately see a Podiatrist (foot doctor). Do not delay as bacteria grows rapidly.
