Remove Hair Dye From Your Face
Remove Hair Dye From Your Face

It never fails, you've dyed your hair and now there is dye stains on your face. Sure things like toothpaste will remove dye from the skin, but toothpaste can be very irritating to the skin, especially on the face. So how do you go about removing hair dye from your face?

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

For best results on any of the methods mentioned, treat the area as soon as possible. The longer the dye sets in the skin, the harder it will be to remove. Also, the darker the dye, usually the harder it will be to remove.

  2. Step 2

Try using a cold cream or facial lotion. Apply directly onto the stain and rub with a cotton ball.

  3. Step 3

If that doesn't work, try some olive oil or vegetable oil. Apply it to a cotton ball and scrub the hair dye stain.

  4. Step 4

When something harsher is needed try either witch hazel or an antiseptic facial cleaners. Be careful not to get this in the eyes and avoid rubbing. Because this is strong, use in moderation and avoid over rubbing the skin.

  5. Step 5

Tea tree oil is also an effective method of removing certain hair dyes from the face if no witch hazel is available. Tea tree oil can dry the skin out and shouldn't be used on sensitive or dry skin. Apply on a cotton ball, directly to the hair dye.

  6. Step 6

Shaving cream can also be applied to the hair dye stain for removal. Just let it foam in the hands and massage it onto the hair dye, then rinse.

  7. Step 7

For prevention, next time you dye your hair, apply cold cream or a facial lotion onto the face. It will help the hair dye come off easier if some happens to get onto the skin.
