How to Get Rid of the Trojan Horse
Trojan horses are a type of computer malware (malicious program) that gains access to a computer through an action of the user, such as installing a corrupted program. The process of deleting Trojans is similar to getting rid of any other malware, such as viruses, spyware and adware.

1
Fully update your anti-virus program. Anti-virus programs use a library of definitions of known viruses and Trojans to scan your computer for problems. If you are infected by a new Trojan, an old virus definition might miss the threat.
-
2
Perform a full system scan with your anti-virus program, using the strictest scanning level possible. Some anti-virus programs allow you to set how thoroughly they scan. More thorough scans take much longer, but can turn up more problems.
-
-
3
Remove any Trojans or other malware discovered by your virus scan.
-
4
Run a scan with Windows Defender if applicable. Windows Defender is an anti-malware tool provided by Microsoft for Windows Vista and Windows XP systems. To run a Defender scan, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Windows Defender," then "scan."
-
5
Download and run third party malware scanners. Sometimes your anti-virus program won't catch a threat, but various spyware and adware removal tools can be downloaded to help you get rid of Trojans. Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad Adware by Lavasoft, are two tools that are free to download and run, and can help scan for and remove malware.
-
6
Search for Trojan-specific support. If you are aware of the name or the Trojan that infected your computer, or the medium it used to gain access to your computer (the program or action that you performed to get infected), try to find help online for that specific Trojan.

Tips & Warnings
Do not run more than one anti-virus program at the same time. Using a firewall can help prevent malware from gaining access to your computer.
