How to Use Priceline & Expedia
Booking airlines and hotels can be a daunting task. Calling different airlines or visiting various websites can waste a lot of time. Time is money since airline rates change by the minute. There is a solution--use Priceline.com and Expedia.com for one-stop airline, hotel and car rental shopping.

Determine where you would like to travel. If you are traveling from a small city, locate the nearest commercial airport (look up the airport code online if you don't know it) and use it as your "Leaving from" or "from" city.

Open your Internet browser and in one tab or window, visit Priceline.com's website and in the next tab or window visit Expedia.com's website (see Resources for links).

Enter the city you are traveling from in the "from" box on Priceline's website and in the "Leaving from" box on Expedia. Next, enter the city you are traveling to in the "to" box on Priceline and the "Going to" box on Expedia.

Enter your "departing" date, "returning" date, "number of tickets" and "seating class" into the Priceline website. Then click "search now." If you are traveling one way, click on "one way" below the "more search options:" heading.

Enter your "Departing" date, "Time," "Returning" date, "Time," number of "Adults," number of "Seniors," and the number of "Children" traveling into the Expedia website. Then click "Search for flights" to just search for airline flights or click "Search for flights + hotels" to search for both an airline ticket and a hotel room. If flying one way, click on the circle icon by "One way" under the "Trip information" heading.

Write down or print out the search results from both sites and compare the dates, flight information and prices. Click on the the departing flight or flight/hotel package that works for you. Then click on the return flight that works.

Choose any add-on options such as rental cars, hotel rooms and insurance on the Priceline site. If you don't want any add-ons, enter your passenger information: name, seat arrangements and meal options. Click "next" on Priceline's website to finalize your reservation. On the Expedia site, click on the box by "I have read and accept the rules and restrictions," then click "Continue with booking."

Verify your reservation on the next screen of the Priceline website. Enter your initials in the box by "Initial Here." Then enter your billing address and credit card information. Next, click "buy my tickets now" to complete your purchase. Print your e-ticket once the credit card verification is complete. If you would like to register or join the Priceline site, complete the questions under the "Register now and save!" heading.

Choose "Continue as a guest" if you want to go ahead and pay for your ticket immediately on the Expedia site. You can also register or join the Expedia site if you want. Then click on the box by "I have read and accept the following: Terms and conditions" then click on "Continue." Verify your reservation and then choose from a list of add-on options like coupons and tours. Then click on "Continue with booking. I have read and accept the rules and restrictions for any additional items selected."

Next, enter your name, phone numbers, meal preference and emergency contact information under the "Enter Traveler Name" heading and then click "Enter traveler and continue checkout." Next, verify your meal and seating arrangements and make any changes. If no changes are needed, click "Proceed to booking." On the next screen, enter your "Payment method," choose a insurance plan if you would like one and your e-mail address. Then click "Complete this booking" to complete your purchase. Print your e-ticket once the credit card verification is complete.

Ticket prices change frequently--try to complete your reservation quickly if you find a price you like. Register or join the two sites so you don't have to enter your personal information each time you visit the sites.
