How to Inject HCG

As a part of the hCG weight loss protocol originated by Dr. ATW Simeons, you will need to be given injections of the hormone known as hCG. You can administer those injections for yourself at home. Other than the hCG, the supplies can be purchased at most local pharmacies.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Self Administering Your hCG Injection

    • 1

Take the vial of hCG from the refrigerator. Remove the vial cap, if applicable. Tear open the packet of the alcohol swab, remove the swab, and swab the top of the vial. Do not discard yet.

    • 2

Remove the cap from the plunger side of the syringe and put aside (if applicable). Carefully remove the cap from the needle of the syringe but do not discard. Hold the syringe in your primary hand, with the other hand pull the plunger to draw in air to the mark where you will be filling with hCG.
Insert the air filled syringe straight into the rubber center of the vial's cap. Invert the vial with the needle inside. Push the plunger to expel the air from the syringe. Slowly pull the plunger back to fill with liquid to the desired volume marker. If there are any air bubbles, you must push the fluid back out and pull in again. You do not want air bubbles injected under your skin.
Return the bottle to the upright position with the needle still in the top. Pull the needle out. Carefully re-cap the syringe. Return the vial of hCG to the refrigerator.

    • 3

Gather your alcohol swab (it can be re-used from the previous step), syringe and sharps container and find a comfortable place to sit where you will not be disturbed by others.

    • 4

Identify the area where you will be giving yourself the injection. For weight loss, hCG is to be injected subcutaneously (under the skin) over fatty tissue. The fronts of your upper thighs and your stomach below your belly button and above the pubic area are best. Do not use the same injection spot twice and avoid visible veins.

    • 5

Swab a small area where you will be injecting. Carefully uncap the syringe. Hold the syringe with one hand so that you will insert the needle straight into the skin, do not insert at an angle. There is no need to pinch the skin. Press the needle into the skin until it inserts fully. Hold the syringe firmly with one hand and depress the plunger with the other, pressing it down fully to administer all the liquid. Wait a moment. Pull the needle out. Carefully replace the cap on the needle. Swab the injection site.

    • 6

Dispose of the alcohol swab and the plunger cap in the trash. Place the used syringe in the sharps container. Never put a used syringe in the regular trash bin.

Tips & Warnings

  • Work quickly after you have swabbed your injection spot; while it is still wet it will be easier to find. If you have trouble seeing or remembering where your last injection spot was, write it down with your daily weight log. You may be able to see a tiny red dot at a previous injection spot for a few days afterward. You may be able to bring your sharps container of used syringes to your doctor for proper disposal. If that option is not available, some pharmacies and testing labs provide the service, and there are disposal by mail services.

  • On the thighs, don't get too close to the body or too far inward, as you can get too close to important glands. Never inject in the exact same place twice, as this can cause an infection. Inject at least an inch away from the previous injection point.
