How to Send Text Messages From Your Computer
Any person with access to the Internet can send a text message to a cell phone. These text messages work with all major cell-phone service providers and they are free to send.

Log onto the Online Text Message homepage (see Resources below).

Type the cell-phone number you wish to send the message to in the "Mobile Number" text box. Do not include spaces or dash marks when typing the numbers.

Enter your/any email address in the "Your E-Mail Address" text box.

Place the subject of the text message into the "Subject" box.

Click the "Select Carrier" drop box. Choose the cell-phone company for the number you entered.

Choose one of the abbreviations listed in the "Quick Text" drop box if you wish to add any of those abbreviations to the text message. Otherwise, move to Step 7.

Type the text message into the "Enter Message" box. The message can be no longer than 100 characters.

Click "Send Message" and the text message will be sent.

Go to the Text 4 Free homepage (see Resources).

Scroll down and enter the recipient's cell number in the blank text box in the "Step 1" box. There should be no spaces or hyphens between the numbers. Click the "Choose Provider" box and then the cell-phone provider for the number you typed in. If you intend to send the same message to more than one cell number, click the "Click to Add Another Recipient" button. Then, enter a number in the blank text box that appears and choose the cell phone service provider for that particular number.

Type in the text message you wish to send in the blank box in Step 2.

Choose how many messages you wish to send by clicking the drop box in Step 3. You can send the message you entered one, five or 10 times.

You may add a picture to your text message by clicking the "Browse" button and finding and double-clicking the picture you want to send.

Enter the code in the image posted in the Step 5 box and then click "Send Message" and the text message will be sent to the cell phone number(s) you entered.
