How to Change Windows Vista Password

A password is an essential security feature of user accounts that is mandatory in Windows Vista. To employ the necessary level of security, an account password should be changed at least every two months. Windows account passwords can be changed using the control panel.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click "Start" and then "Control Panel."

  2. Step 2

    Click "User Accounts and Family Safety."

  3. Step 3

    Click on "Change your Windows Password" under "User Accounts."

  4. Step 4

    Type your current password in the field. Then type a new password in the field below. Re-type the new password in the field "Confirm new password."

  5. Step 5

    Click the "Change Password" button.
