How to Polish Gore-Tex Riding Boots
Gore-Tex is added to leather, rubber and fabric shoes and boots to make them waterproof. Water beads on the surface of shoes and boots and rolls off, rather than being absorbed. Gore-Tex also keeps the interior of the shoe or boot dry by allowing air vapor to be released through microscopic holes. Gore-Tex is a durable material, but proper care must be taken for it to remain water-proof. Using regular shoe polishes and creams clogs the pores in the Gore-Tex, allowing water to be absorbed by the shoe or boot, while at the same time preventing air from escaping. With proper care, Gore-Tex should remain comfortable and waterproof for 10 years or more. Does this Spark an idea?
