When you create a Windows XP user account, you are given the option to add a password to that account. This password must then be entered each time you log on to that particular Windows XP account. Using a Windows XP password is recommended for security, especially if several people use a particular computer, and you keep personal information saved on your Windows XP user account. Changing your Windows XP password every now and then can help keep your account secure and private.
