How to Make a Tee Shirt Cannon

Tee-shirt cannons are popular at larger events such as concerts and football games. Since many companies use free tee shirts as promotional materials, limiting the give-away to the lower sections of an arena is not a good marketing idea. Therefore, the tee shirt cannon was invented. With a few supplies from the local hardware store and a few minutes, you can have tee shirts zooming through the air in no time.

  1. How to Make a Tee Shirt Cannon

    • 1

Cut the 3-inch PVC pipe into two 3-foot long pieces. Attach an end cap to one end of one of the pipes. Measure 1 inch from the bottom of the cap and mark the spot with a marker. Remove the cap.

    • 2

Using a drill bit that is about the size of the Schrader valve, drill through the marked PVC pipe.

Apply a liberal amount of primer to the hole, inside and out. Repeat with the cement.

Apply cement on the base of the Schrader valve and insert it in the hole. Hold the valve for one minute or until set.

    • 3

Apply primer and cement to the end cap and secure onto the PVC pipe. Hold for one minute or until firmly set.

    • 4

Apply primer and concrete to a PVC valve and attach to the other end of the pipe.

Attach the second piece of PVC to the other end of the valve. Apply primer and concrete before placing into the valve. Attach the remaining end cap to the pipe, securing it with primer and concrete.

    • 5

Attach a bicycle pump to the Schrader valve and pump it several times. Open the PVC valve quickly to send the tee shirt sailing.
