How to Burn MP3s with Windows Media

In today's world, burning CDs has become somewhat commonplace. CDs can be used to store all sorts of computer files, including music. One program people can use to burn MP3 music onto a CD is Windows Media Player. While it is not the only program available, it is definitely 1 of the simplest. It is easy to use Windows Media Player (Windows Vista) to burn MP3s onto a CD. Get started burning your own CDs today.

Things You'll Need

• Windows Vista PC Windows Media Player Blank CD-R or CD-RW CD burning capability

Instructions

1. Open Windows Media Player by accessing "Start." Go to All Programs > Windows Media Player.

   Now Windows Media Player should be open. At this point, you need to insert the blank CD-R or CD-RW into the CD burner. (On many newer computers, the CD drive doubles as a CD burner.) On the tabs across the top of the program window, click "Burn."

   On the menu on the left, click "Albums" or "Songs" (depending on which you're looking to burn). Click and drag items into the box on the right labeled "Drag items here." When you are happy with the items in your burn list, click "Start Burn," located at the bottom of the burn list.

4. Now, you should have a freshly burned CD with all the MP3s you wanted to burn. All you have to do is wait for the CD burner to do its work, and then you are done.

Tips & Warnings

• CD-Rs cannot be burned a 2nd time, but CD-RWs can. Remember this when making CD purchases.

• Do not reproduce any material for which you do not own the copyright. It is illegal.
