How to Make Bath Towels More Absorbent
Bath towels are typically less than absorbent when they are brand new. This is because of the chemicals the manufacturer puts on the towels to help them feel soft and luxurious on the shelves in the store. Also, using fabric softeners and dryer sheets can decrease towel absorbency. The chemicals and waxes found in these products can coat your towels and prevent them from soaking up water like they should. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Launder your new towels with detergent, but do not use fabric softener. This step alone might be enough to improve the absorbency of the towel.
-
2
If Step 1 is not helpful, then wash your new (and old) towels with 2 cups of white vinegar instead of laundry detergent.
-
-
3
Dry as usual, but do not use fabric softener dryer sheets, and your problem should be solved. If not, repeat Step 2 a few more times.
