How to Make a Basic Web Page Using Flash 8

With the Macromedia Flash 8 program, you can design a basic web page with interactive content, images and hyperlinks. Then you can save your Flash file as an .swf or .html file and upload it to your active web server. After that, visitors with Adobe Flash Player installed on their computers will be able to view your Flash web page.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC or Mac computer
  • Macromedia Flash 8
  • Active web server
  1. Step 1

    Launch the Macromedia Flash 8 program by using the Start menu on a PC or the Dock on a Mac.

  2. Step 2

    Open the "File" menu at the top of the screen and select the "New" option.

  3. Step 3

    Select "Flash File" from the list of file types and then click the "OK" button.

  4. Step 4

    Use the menu bar at the bottom of the screen to set the dimensions of your Flash web page. By default, the file is set to 550 by 400 pixels.

  5. Step 5

    Use the toolbar on the left side of the screen to add animations, graphics or text to your Flash design.

  6. Step 6

    Go to the "File" menu and select "Publish Settings."

  7. Step 7

    Check the boxes next to "Flash (.swf)" and "HTML (.html)" and hit "OK."

  8. Step 8

    Open the "File" menu again and choose the "Publish" option to export the Flash design as an .swf file and an .html file and upload it to your web server.
