We all went through the pain of teething, but luckily, we don't have to remember it! When children cut teeth, it can be a very traumatic experience, both for the child, and the care giver, so here are some tips for soothing teething pain.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a wash cloth and wet it down, then stick it in the freezer. Let it freeze until it is firm, then pop it out, and give it to your teething child to suck or bite on.

  2. Step 2

The vibrating teething rattler was a Godsend to our home! We bought ours at Toys R Us, but I think you can get them at Wal-Mart, too. When your child bites it, it vibrates and soothes those little gums and teeth. Unfortunately, you can't replace the batteries, but we have had ours for months now and it has yet to die.

  3. Step 3

Homeopathic remedies have come out that are very soothing for teethers, and can be bought at local drug stores (we bought ours at Walgreens). Although some pharmacists don't know much about them, they are time tested and mother approved. The come in tablets that melt in the child's mouth, and thin strips.

  4. Step 4

Popsicles! Freeze juice, breast milk, or just about anything your teething baby likes to eat in an ice tray, and put that in a freezer. When they are done, you can just hand them to the child depending on age, or put them in a mesh feeder.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always watch children or babies with anything, as they will put everything directly into their mouths.
