Things You'll Need:
- Area of land
- Dirt
- Shovel
- Wheelbarrow
- water

Step 1
First, you will need a large, relatively flat, open space of land. Make sure that you own the land or it is ok for you to use it. You do not want all your work to go to waste. Ok, now that you have an area big enough for proper acceleration and slowing down, it is time to start digging.

Step 2
Using your shovels and your wheelbarrow, dig up dirt and transfer it to the area where you would like to build your ramps. Remember you will need both a take off and landing ramp. Now, mound two piles of logs and then put dirt on top of them to the desired level. For beginners about you will want a ramp that is about 2--3 feet high. You can go higher if you have experience. The gap between the two ramps should be 2--5 feet.
-
Step 3
You will need to compact the dirt on the ramp, so it is best to put about 1 foot--1 foot and a half of extra dirt on the ramps. This way, after you compact the ramp will be to the height that you originally intended. You can use your shovel, feet, or a roller to compact the dirt.
-
Step 4
Now, the top of the take off ramp needs to be curved so that you don't overshoot your landing. The degree of the angle should be somewhere between 45--70 degrees. you can do this with your shovel or hands.
-
Step 5
Add water to the ramp to help in compact and to eliminate dust and clumps. Do not use too much water though because then you will end up with mud and a disfigured shape. Wait for it to dry and enjoy.
