You can improve the speed of your tennis serve by improving your racquet speed and letting your momentum work for you.

• Tennis racquet
• Tennis balls

Instructions

1. Toss the tennis ball high enough so you hit it when your arm is outstretched. When you toss up the ball, pull your racquet behind your head and swing your racquet up, hit the ball, then follow through down.

2. Increase your serve speed on a slice or topspin serve by snapping your wrist faster. A faster wrist snap drastically increases spin on the ball, and can lead to hitting a faster tennis serve.

3. Start 1 foot behind the service line when you are hitting a flat serve. Toss the ball up and forward into the court. When you hit the serve, your momentum will push you, and the ball, into the court. This increases the speed on the ball because you are pushing yourself forward as you hit the ball.
