There's no better way to beat the heat than by enjoying a nice, thick milkshake. Don't settle for a generic fast-food version when you can whip one up in your kitchen in no time. Use your favorite flavor of ice cream and mix in a little bit of fruit, jelly or a sundae topping to get the taste just the way you like it. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pour about 3/4 cup milk into the blender and add about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of ice cream. The more ice cream you use, the thicker the milkshake will be. Drizzle in any desired syrups or other flavorings, or drop in berries or maybe a sliced banana.

    • 2

Blend your milkshake until smooth, making sure not to overheat the motor. Add more milk if the shake is too thick or scoop in a little more ice cream if the consistency is too thin for your taste.

    • 3

Pour into a chilled glass and add a dollop of whipped topping.

Tips & Warnings

  • I personally suggest chocolate or mint chocolate chip ice cream for either a chocolate milkshake or a shamrock shake!
