There are plenty of chocolate chip cookie recipes out there, but this one packs so many chips into each cookie that it will satisfy any chocolate lover. Quick and easy to prepare, this recipe yields about 24 to 30 cookies, depending upon the size. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup plus one tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups (one 12 ounce package) chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl add the butter-flavored shortening, sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat the ingredients thoroughly until light and fluffy.

      In a smaller mixing bowl combine the flour, salt and baking soda. Add this into the sugar mixture and stir until well combined.

      Stir in the chocolate chips and the optional chopped walnuts into the cookie dough until they are thoroughly incorporated.

      Drop the cookie dough on to an ungreased baking sheet in rounded teaspoonfuls about two inches apart. Place the baking sheet in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cookies are just turning golden brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and place them on a wire rack to cool completely, or enjoy them while they are still warm and gooey.
