Things You'll Need:
- Vacuum
- Vacuum bag or filter
- Scissors
- Duct tape
- Garbage can
-
Step 1
Vacuum filter bagUnplug your vacuum cleaner. Remove the vacuum filter from the vacuum. Place on a table or other workspace.
-
Step 2
Cutting open filter bagUsing the scissors, carefully cut open the vacuum filter 1/2 to 2/3 of the way open, as shown in the picture.
-
Step 3
Empty the vacuum bag into the garbage can. Be careful, it can get messy. Wear gloves if you don't want your hands dirty. If any debris gets stuck, it can be removed with kitchen tongs.
-
Step 4
Sealing filter bagCut a piece of duct tape 1 inch larger than the hole you cut in the vacuum filter. Carefully seal up the hole with the duct tape, making sure there are no gaps or leaks. Press firmly to get good adhesion.
-
Step 5
Replace the vacuum filter into the vacuum. Your vacuum is now ready to use.
