Things You'll Need:
- Pegboard
- 1" x 2" 8 ft long
- Drill
- Wood screws 3/4" & 2"
- Saw
- Tape measure
-
Step 1
The first step is to measure the area that we have designated for the pegboard. Once we have that measurement we need to cut the pegboard to the dimensions that we measured.
-
Step 2
Once we have cut the pegboard down to size, we need to take our measurement in width and divide it by 2 and add 1 to that number (ex. 6ft /2 = 3 +1 =4 total needed). That is how many upright supports made out of 1"x 2" that we need for our pegboard tool hanger. Now cut our 1" x 2" to the height of our piece of pegboard and the quantity we determined above.
-
Step 3
Now start by attaching 2 of the 1" x 2" boards at each side of the pegboard sheet using your 3/4 inch screws. If your sheet is wider than 2 feet then center the extra supports across your pegboard sheet and attach with screws.
-
Step 4
Now use wood screws and hang the pegboard on the wall to the wall studs using your longer wood screws. Now if you want to add color to the room paint the board the color you like and now you have a fancy tool board.
