The background image on your computer's desktop is the first thing you typically see when you boot your computer, and can be anything from a picture of a friend or family member to a generic color you enjoy. If you have a Macintosh computer, changing your background image is very easy to do and only takes a few minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Press the Apple icon at the top left hand side of the screen and then select "System Preferences" from the available options.

  2. Step 2

Choose "Desktop and Screen Saver" from the System Preferences menu.

  3. Step 3

Select "Desktop" from options at the top of the display box.

  4. Step 4

Select a picture for the available options. The box on the far left of the screen will allow you to browse through the pre-loaded Apple images as well as any images that might be stored on your computer. Images will appear in the box on the right and can be selected by double-clicking.

  5. Step 5

Exit the menu by pressing the red dot in the top right corner.
