How To Change an Address for Us Treasury Bonds
When you buy U.S. Treasury bonds, they are registered to you using your name and social security number. If you buy them on an automatic schedule through a third-party payroll deduction bond issuing firm, paper versions of the bonds will be sent to you by mail. The payroll deduction firms actually prints the paper bonds, as the U.S. Treasury department now only issues electronic versions of these securities from those who buy the bonds from the U.S. Treasury directly. The address that appears on the bond is the address your payroll deduction firm has on file.
