How to Make Detox Tea
In order to stay healthy, it's a good idea to periodically and gently detoxify our bodies. One of the best ways to do this is with a detox tea. When ingested two to three times a day, the combination of ginger, mint and burdock root will cleanse your digestive tract, liver and lymphatic system of accumulated toxins. While the detox tea described below is harmless, it should not be taken everyday or else your body will build an immunity to it. Follow the instructions and you will be introducing a mild and effective detoxifier into your lifestyle that may help you live a longer and healthier life.
Things You'll Need
- 1 tbsp. dried mint
- 1 tsp. grated ginger
- 1 tsp. grated burdock root
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- Tea strainer

Instructions

1
Grate the burdock root and ginger until you have one tsp. of each. Be sure not to grind it so finely that it falls through the holes in your tea strainer. Crumble the mint leaves but pay attention to their size as well.
-
2
Fill the tea strainer with the ground burdock root, ginger and mint.
-
-
3
Boil the water.
-
4
Pour the boiling water into your tea cup. Place the strainer in the cup. Let the tea steep for 10 minutes, but no longer. Don't worry, the tea is supposed to be blue.
-
5
Remove the strainer from the cup. Stir in the lemon juice and drink. Do not add any sugar or milk to the tea as it will interfere with the detoxifying properties of the herbs.
-
6
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 three times daily. Drink the tea with your breakfast, lunch and dinner for one week. Repeat once a month or as necessary.
