How to Ice Luge
Ice luge is a fast paced and fun sport, but also a dangerous one. Finding a good beginners track is essential to learning to luge. It is extremely important that you use proper technique to get out of the gate, down the slope and stopped safely.

Put your feet onto the ice luge runners at an equal height.

Grab the starting handles with your thumb on the outside of the handle and the palm of your hand facing down but elevated above the handle.

Pull forward until your hips reach the handles then push back again a maximum of three times, extending as far back as possible in your last push back.

Pull yourself forward and past the handles, leaning forward slightly as you do so, to propel yourself down the slope.

Lie back flat with your arms straight at your side.

Remove your legs from the runners and extend them straight with your toes pointed down the track.

Stop by placing both feet on the ground, and pulling up on the front runners.
