Look through your insurance booklet. Insurance companies often have a list of doctors to select from in a directory. If you do not have a booklet or lost it, call your health insurance company and request one.

Utilize online search engines. Google.com, Bing.com and many other search engines are useful when searching for doctors in your area. To use the search engine, simply go to the search bar and type in 'doctors' followed by the city and state where you reside.

Visit the American Medical Association's website. This site is great for finding information on more than 814,000 doctors when you use their DoctorFinder tool. To access the feature, go to http://www.ama-assn.org and click on the DoctorFinder tab located on the right side of the screen. Once there, you can search for doctors based on first and last name, or by physician speciality.
