Things You'll Need:
- 5-foot stick
- 3 yards fishing line
- Medium pebble
- Hook
- Bait
-
Step 1
Attach the fishing line to your stick. Wrap the line around the stick so that the overlapping loops create a cross on the stick (see image). Continue wrapping until you have about 2 1/2 yards of fishing line hanging off of the end. Secure the fishing line by slipping the line under the cross and tying it.
-
Step 2
Place a small pebble about 6 to 8 inches above the bottom of the fishing line that is hanging off of the stick (see image). Secure this onto the line by wrapping again in a cross form and tying. Be sure that it will not fly off when you cast it.
-
Step 3
Attach a hook to the very end of the fishing line. Tie the hook in a knot. Place bait onto the hook.
-
Step 4
Cast your homemade fishing pole out into the water and wait for a fish to bite. If you notice a fish biting, gently pull back on the pole to hook him. Grab the line from the end of your pole and pull him in. Do not pull him in with the stick; it may break.
