How to Remove Adobe LM Service

The Adobe LM Service is a piece of software bundled with all Adobe software products. This software detects when a hardware change has been made to a computer running Adobe software. Depending on the type of hardware change, it may temporarily disable the Adobe software on the computer until the registration keys for the products have been re-entered and submitted to Adobe. If the .exe file for the LM Service is manually removed, the Adobe software automatically replaces it; therefore, the only way to completely remove the Adobe LM Service is to uninstall the Adobe software.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Start" button in Windows and then click "Control Panel" on the Start menu.

    • 2

Double-click "Add or Remove Programs." When the new window opens, wait as Windows populates the program list.

    • 3

Scan the list of programs for the following Adobe software: Acrobat, Acrobat Connect Pro, After Effects, AIR, ColdFusion, Design Premium, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Flex, Illustrator, InDesign, LiveCycle and Photoshop. All of these programs use the Adobe LM Service.

    • 4

Left-click one of the programs listed above on the list, then click the "Uninstall" button on the right side of the window. Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the software.

    • 5

Repeat step 4 for all other Adobe programs on the list. When the last Adobe program is uninstalled, the last components of Adobe LM Service will have been removed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adobe LM Service is used by Adobe to combat piracy of its software. If you're using legally purchased and registered Adobe software, there is no harm or risk involved in keeping Adobe LM Service on your computer.
