How to Switch a Belkin 2 Port

The F1DK102P, or Belkin 2-Port PS/2 KVM Switch with Cabling, is used to connect two Windows-based computers to a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. The F1DK102P is compatible with computers that PS/2-style mouse and keyboard ports rather than USB ports. When the computers are connected through the switch, you can alternate between and access them with no need for additional equipment on your desk. You follow a standard process to connect the Belkin 2-Port PS/2 KVM Switch to two computers.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Turn off both computers.

  2. Step 2

    Plug your keyboard and mouse into the keyboard and mouse ports on the front of the switch. Plug the VGA cable attached to your monitor into the VGA port on the front of the switch.

  3. Step 3

    Choose either of the two cable sets on the back of the switch. Plug the VGA cable from the set into the VGA port on the back of either one of the computers. Plug the keyboard and mouse cables from the set into the keyboard and mouse ports on the back of the computer.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat the process with the second cable set and second computer.

  5. Step 5

    Turn on both computers. The Windows desktop from one computer will appear on the monitor and you can use your keyboard and mouse as normal.

  6. Step 6

    Use the pre-assigned keys on your keyboard to switch between the two Windows desktops. The pre-assigned key combination is: Press the scroll lock key twice, then press the up arrow key.
