Pressure points are a set of points on the human body that are highly susceptible to manipulation. By learning to use pressure points to your advantage, such as in techniques listed here, you can stop an attacker much bigger than you in their tracks, giving you the opportunity to escape a dangerous situation.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

    Mimi

  1. Step 1

Cup both hands individually, as if accepting a small trinket or snack in your hand.

  2. Step 2

Swing your arms in arcs parallel to the ground toward your attacker's head.

  3. Step 3

Clap your hands together on your opponents ears, landing simultaneously, to stun your attacker.

  4. Step 4

Escape when your opponent recoils, as the strike causes extreme pressure and discomfort as well as ringing in the ears.

  5. Kote

  6. Step 1

Counter an attempt to grab your shoulder by balling your fist opposite the side you are being grabbed on. For example, if an assailant grabs your left shoulder, strike with your right hand.

  7. Step 2

Raise your striking arm so that the elbow is at the same height as your opponent's grabbing elbow, and your forearm is extending perpendicularly up.

  8. Step 3

Extend your balled fist down into your assailant's inner elbow joint, striking with the bottom of your fist, not the knuckles.

  9. Step 4

Repeat if necessary until your assailant's grip is broken.

  10. Mikazuki

  11. Step 1

Begin to throw a straight arm strike at your attacker's throat.

  12. Step 2

Extend your fingers as you near your assailant's throat.

  13. Step 3

Drive your fingers into the depression above your assailant's Adam's apple.

  14. Step 4

Escape when your assailant is driven back to relieve pressure on the throat.

Tips & Warnings
