How to do a Maid of Honor Hairstyle

  1. Step 1

Starting with clean, dry hair, with no styling products, separate the front section of the hair--almost like bangs.

  2. Step 2

Pull the rest of the hair into a ponytail, using gel or mousse on the part of the hair laying against the head. Spray that section of the hair with a holding hair spray.

  3. Step 3

Part the bang section that was left out of the ponytail on one side. Add your styling product to frame the face with the hair, coming down slightly on the forehead. Pin the hair behind the ears and spray in place.

  4. Step 4

Put some styling product in small section of hair from the ponytail and curl it in tight ringlets with the curling iron. Repeat this step until all of the hair from the ponytail has been curled.

  5. Step 5

Gently loop some of the curls and pin them to the head using regular bobby pins. Let some of the shorter curls hang naturally from the ponytail.

  6. Step 6

Embellish the hairstyle with decorative pins with little crystal, beads or pearls to match the wedding dress. Stick them in on top of (in front of) the ponytail.

  7. Step 7

Vigorously spray the entire hairstyle with a strong holding, long lasting hairspray.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice creating the hairstyle at least once a few weeks prior to the wedding.
  • Do not brush or curl wet hair.
